This girl is a beautiful girl i’m sure, but her photographer has no idea what they are doing.

On my way, I have had the unfortunate experiences of working with un-reputable “GWC’s” that ultimately ended up wasting my time.  James Thompson from JZL visions is one of them.  He is a young photographer from California, whom I met from a mutual friend.  I don’t necessarily do TFP per say, but I will to build new relationships with people I have met and possibly that could build into a business relationship.  I did him a favor and shot with him.  I had my first shoot with James on a windy day at Lanikai.  I had paid for makeup and hair out of my own pocket which laid flat immediately from the humidity.  Beginning the shoot, the lighting was off, I had to tell him it was wrong.  I mean, I’m just a model, not a photographer.  Shouldn’t he have known that?  So finally, he got the lighting right.  But all he wanted to do was shoot bikini pictures and repeatedly asked me to take my top off.  I didn’t want to take my top off as I am picky who I do implied nudity photos with.  Any dumb ass can take a picture of a beautiful naked girl and make it look beautiful, but what I’m worried about is looking bad.  That is exactly what James did, make me look bad.  There were 3 photos in the shoot that were OK but nothing useable.  On top of that, I was suppose to do some fitness photos for my website and flier, and he rushed through that in less than 10 minutes and we got no photos.  I thought it was super rude and unprofessional because when it came to the lingerie part he wanted to shoot forever, but I refused and ended the shoot because he asked me to get in the water in my $200 Victoria Secret Collection lingerie.  He wanted me to walk in the sand in my $1200 Manolos.  I refused.  When I told him I would if he paid for it, he declined.  Of course, he did, he works at Senor Frogs or some bs like that for minimum wage.

He asked to shoot for my event on Sunday, and I obliged.  I told him that we could use his photos for the event, and that I will logo him and promote him as we build a relationship.  Brand recognition is not built over night.  It’s built over time and through loyalty and continuing to promote.  So if he was expecting 5 girls to call him to pay to shoot, when they saw my crap photos, he is tripping.  So it’s 4 days before the event and I call him to confirm and drop off flyers, and he tells me he can’t do it because he is moving in two weeks and doesn’t care about brand recognition.  He isn’t making money so it’s a loss for him.  WTF! When I chewed him out, he had the audacity to say I was difficult to work with.  Any photographer who has worked with me knows I am a professional model, I get the job done, but I am fun and adventurous.  I just don’t take my clothes off for amateur photographers or ruin $200 lingerie and $1200 Manolo Blahniks. Why haven’t I sent you work?  Because you suck.  You’re unprofessional.  And this is our first business venture together, and you flaked and screwed me over.  Not because you had something important to do.  Because you committed and talked up a big game, and decided not to deliver.  

I do admit, some of his stuff can be unique, but a lot of it inconsistent and amateur.  I would not pay $200 to shoot with him.  I wouldn’t pay $1.  For $200 I can shoot with Russell Tanoue with hair and makeup included.  He doesn’t take time to set up the picture or see a vision.  He is mostly just clicking and shooting.

Anybody can take a picture of a beautiful girl in a bikini.  Bad lighting. Epic fail!

Jack Knifes

Planks are GREAT for stabilization and core!

You can progress from planks to planks on a yoga ball either feet on the ball or reverse with feet on the floor.  Push ups are also a great stabilizer exercise and when they get easier you can make it harder with a yoga ball.

Leg lifts on a yoga ball make simple leg lifts more difficult, engaging your core muscles.  You’ll definitely feel this in your hamstrings and your glutes as well as your lower back and abs which you use to stabilize.

It seems almost everyone, everywhere is doing the 90 day challenge.  Just yesterday I was at Ezogiku in Waimalu having some ramen after hitting the gym.  I had my Visalus shake powder in my purse and was making myself a shake in my protein cup while I finished my lunch, when the old asian lady who owned the restaurant started to tell us about how she’s lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks and that she too is a promoter.

It truly is a shame how over-saturated this company has become.  I just recently signed up, but fail to see potential for great success.  I choose to continue in the company because it truly is a great product that I personally use and will refer to all my clients and friends. I’m sold for life! I have not heard anything negative personally about the products, only the company and the negative connotations that come with MLM, Facebook spam and aggressive pushy sales persons.

I ordered the executive kit which comes with the media + a whole bunch of products.  I hate taking vitamins, and I figured that the vi-pak were just overpriced vitamins.  I have a huge drawer full of vitamin shoppe bottles (I spend at least $100 a month on) and I’m tired of taking pills all the time.  These pills are conveniently packed in AM and PM packs making them easier to take.  But when I compared it side by side with the competing brands, it truly is a great vitamin pack.  Tomorrow I am going to a Nuskin party where I will get a “scan” from a machine that will measure how good my vitamin regiment is working.  In a month, I am going to rescan to see how effective the vi-pak is.  After then, I will start taking Pharmanex (Life Pak Nano), the Nuskin brand of vitamins and rescan to see how effective they are as well.

In my kit also came metabolism boosters, appetite suppressants, Neuro (a light energy booster) and the sweet cream shakes.  The shakes are wonderful and delicious and easy to blend with fresh ingredients to make gourmet shakes.  Nutrition shakes can often taste vitamin-ey and simply nasty, but Visalus takes great!  My favorite personal recipe is nutella key lime pie.  I blend Nutella with vanilla yoghurt, lime and graham crackers.  Or simply, when I am on the go, an orange cream with orange juice.  Again… when I compared Visalus to other companies, the charts proved it superior to competing brands.

So… I am on week 2 of the 90 day challenge.  I’m a pretty fit person, and I am constantly in the gym, but I find it hard to trim down on those hard to trim places, like on my under-worked hamstrings and that little bit of fat on my waist. Especially since I like to eat ramen noodles and gyoza’s all the time.  The low calorie shakes (90 cals) have really helped me to replace some calories that I need to eliminate to create a deficit to be able to lose weight.  In only a week I have already trimmed down in my waist, and my abs are beginning to pop and cellulite disappearing from my hamstrings and glutes.  I have a shake for breakfast, and I have one after my work out.  If I am hungry, I choose to have a light lunch like a salad or some sushi, but generally the odorless and tasteless powder, vi-slim helps to suppress my appetite.  I like to eat, so I reserve my bigger meals for dinner like some shrimp pasta or some bim bim kook soo with korean bbq.  I don’t eat what I want but I do get to enjoy myself from time to time and still see results.  You don’t have to eat chicken and sweet potato and oatmeal all week long and hate what you’re eating.  Just choosing smarter choices and healthy fats in moderation can help.  Eating bacon cheesburgers, fried chicken and french fries probably is a poor choice.  But an Eggs la jolla, (bread, ham, asparagus, mushroom, creamy pesto sauce, potatoes) is full of fresh vegetables, low fat meat, and a creamy sauce can be a healthier choice.   There is a little bit of natural fats in the sauce, but a small amount of fat in a nutritious meal can be better than fried chicken and gravy. Saturday, I cheated and had some McDonalds when I was on the go, but I do allow myself one cheat day a week.

I want to try more products so I am more aware of what the company has to offer.  I’m wary about shakes, but I have tried samples and they are actually quite delicious.  I spend $200 a month at vitamin shop anyways, and to just have everything in a package through one company at an affordable price, ($2 a shake) and get it for FREE just makes sense.
