My Favorite Madonna Song: the Power of Goodbye

I’ve always enjoyed Madonna’s “Power of Goodbye” as well as her darker transformation during the time she recorded Nothing Really Matters, a fun Japanese inspired video, as well as the top chart single Frozen, a darker video where they play with the positive space of dark fabric and creative CGI.   The henna also adds a nice touch to the dark feel of the music video.  Madonna isn’t the best dancer, or the best singer, but when it comes to creative concepts, and portraying an artistic idea, she is truly an inspiring artist.

Recently, the song “Power of Goodbye” touched me deeper than before.  I first heard the song in the late 90′s around the time she put out her “Ray of Light” album.  What does a teenager know about “the Power of Goodbye?”  Again… Madonna is an artistic genius.  From the heartbreaking lyrics,  to the creative concepts, the chest game symbolizing the game of love, her destroying it, symbolizing the end, the set, a minimalistic Malibu ocean house, to casting, the hypnotizing light eyes of the handsome Croatian actor, Goran Visnijc adds to the lure.

After watching several poorly done re-edited versions of this video, I’ve  decided that the slow tempo of the song fits perfect with the slow movement of Madonna and the story. Of course… it is Madonna, so she can afford the best editors and creative artists.

I also noticed that William Orbit had a hand in the music, thus the electronic feel accompanied with strings.  My favorite instruments  are acoustics such as piano and strings with powerful melodies accompanied with an electronic beat.  MADONNA DID IT FIRST. Her collaboration with William Orbit at this time was truly innovative and has gone on to inspire others to collaborate with opposing style artists, such as artists like Timbaland who have created his career on collaborations with top artists. I can’t wait to write some of my own music, but I imagine that it could sound something like this song, something with a minor melody, power lyrics, a house beat, and orchestral instruments and piano.

What the video here

I especially love the blue feel to the video.  The CGI ripple/blur filter towards the end of the video makes it appear distorted slightly, simulating a water-like effect.  Fans debate that she commits suicide at the end of the music video, but I disagree, and believe it is an artistic way of using water as a symbol of rebirth. At the end of the video she is happy and alive on the beach.

They say that the song is about Madonna’s abusive ex, Sean Penn.

Why do I love this video so much?  The emotion Madonna portrays, the feel the video invokes, the way you can feel the passion followed by the immediate loss, love is fast, a rollercoaster, it comes and goes in a flash.  One second you are engulfed in the flames, the next moment there is nothing left but ashes. I feel like I can relate, and the video was created from a story in my past.  But to anyone who has ever loved and lost, you can understand what I am trying to say.

My Definition of a Good Lover

Someone who gives you the last piece of shrimp.

The Sweetest Letter I Have Ever Had.

I Want Candy but why?

Candy is traditionally covered by a hard colored shell. It is often very sweet if nothing else. It is usually very intriguing in shape and is presented in an “oh so tempting”
fashion. The sweet shell, hard and tough to penetrate, covers what’s inside. Looking at it, when it’s done right, often makes you want to taste it not even knowing what’s inside. Like any good candy the colors that the shell come in are many. Every color of the rainbow but all somewhat similar when tasted. The shell and it’s colors are presented to you in various flavors you’ve tasted before so why taste them again? If you’re the type that enjoys candy frivolously then why not have a handful to wet your pallete? You know it will taste good even if you’ve tasted it a million times. You may even think, i’ll eat a full meal later so a few pieces of candy won’t spoil my appetite! Or maybe you long to have wants on the inside of the candy and this has nothing to do with your appetite or the intriguing colored shell?

You see after you’ve cracked the shell, you realize that it was only the beginning. It’s the starting point to all the real flavor, and complexity, that makes the whole thing work together. Shells are for protection aswell as a housing for soft sweet insides. The softness on the inside sometime’s can’t take any real shape without it’s hard outer casing. What most people don’t understand is that what is on the inside is often so good that it doesn’t even need to be cased up. It’s often just a clever presentation to showcase it’s incredible inside flavor. And even when it runs freely, as it often does when the shell is broken, it flows beautifully and often brings orgasmic joy to anyone willing and able to partake of it. Just watch a persons face when they get to the inside of the candy and you’d think they’d died and gone to heaven. The inside of this candy is soft and sweet like many others, but suprisingly complex. The shell of this candy leads you to believe the inside may not be what it’s cracked up to be but that’s not the case here. Being intrigued by the colorful shell is a given but what’s inside is what will actually reel you in here. That is if you can even get past the shell. Some candies have such a hard shell that you get frustrated with trying to get inside that you throw it away in anger, and often pain. This candy is no different and has a legendary hard outer shell. Every now and then someone bites through and realizes the inside is pretty special, and also worth talking about. Unfortunately, only real candy connoisseur’s know this, as many others are caught up in the hype never bothering to
go past the shell. Their loss.

Life can’t always be explained through a comparison of the make-up of a sugary treat. As a matter of fact it rarely can be, and often shouldln’t be done. It’s probably not an applicable comparison in many aspects to be perfectly honest. In this case it kind of is though. The comparison of this persons personalitie(s) through the 2 main components of candy make so much sense that i had to write it down. In this case it works because one person embodies both the bittersweet hardness, and sweet softness we’ve all come to know, and clearly be synonomous with what makes up candy. It doesn’t hurt that whom i’m really speaking of has
nicknamed herself Candy either.

People will always decide things for themselves. Often because of what someone else around them has decided first but they will decide eventually. Hopefully people can decide to show a little more appreciation for what’s on the inside
than the flashy outside. Just like with a piece of candy. And in this particular case maybe those very same people will take a little more time to let her know that breaking thru her shell was worth it, and that the real goldmine is what’s inside and not just her colorful shell. In my recent bout with candy, i undoubtedly enjoy what’s waiting for you on the inside 100 to 1 over the outside. The main ingredient, and most popular one, of candy, is the sugar. But the best part of it to me, by far, is Kristie Manning.

I Just Bought a New Vibrator.

My first pocket rocket. LOL!

I’ve had all the Doc Johnson pocket rockets, bullets, even the doubly strong, double battery, extra vibrating Titan.  Everything from the traditional impulse jack rabbit, a $100 dildo with metal rotating beads, a jelly like shaft and a vibrating rabbit for clitoral stimulation.  My favorite by choice, however, the batteries always die quickly, and batteries are expensive.  SO… the first time I went to Vegas, I bought a re-chargable jack rabbit which was slightly more expensive, however, broke each time.  I know what you’re thinking?  What am I doing buying a dildo in Vegas?  Why don’t I just go out and get it? LOL!  I am terrified to get something.  Do you know that 50% of my friends have gifts that keep giving in Vegas and I know about it.  And I know who they all sleep with, and it’s all very disgusting.  So…. I trust my handy toys to keep me warm on those lonely nights. LOL! Anyhow… I bought this re-chargable jack rabbit t 3 times, and each time they broke.  The last time I bought a newer spin on the jack rabbit, but waterproof and it was $150!  Not really impressed with it, I usually stick to Titan, a stronger pocket rocket.  I broke 3 pocket rockets this year just twisting it open to replace the battery.  I have been seeing this new “We-Vibe” vibrators everywhere, so I finally decided to get one!  They have been around $150 all over the place.  This week while going to a fitting for a Sensually Your’s fashion show next week, I found the “We-Vibe” for ony $99.00.  And Auntie hooked me up with a discount as well. ;D

What is the We-Vibe?  It is a vibrator that  comes in 3 colors.  Pink, purple and teal.  I bought the teal one. ;D  It clamps on over the clitoris as well as inside you at the same time hitting the G-Spot.  It can be used alone, but mainly is functional during sex!  Finally a great vibrator you can enjoy without intimidating your man.  I always have to have my vibrator when I have sex with a guy and I think they always get bothered by it.  I believe this will stimulate him as well.  I will have to share my reviews with you after I actually get to use it!  It is waterproof and made from a soft silicone.  The plug area closes up and seals naturally so it stays waterproof as well.  There are no batteries and a charge will last up to 4 hours!  Can’t wait to enjoy this great new toy!  There are necessities… toilet paper, groceries, gas, then my adult toys.  I have a whole drawer next to my bed full of silk ropes, rabbits, lubes, and all my “necessities.”
