Not to engage in sexual acts, or to offer to stimulate or satisfy a customer sexually in exchange for money. The last few weeks Spearmint Rhino has been under scrutiny by VICE. In 2 weeks they arrested 30+ girls for solicitation, and fined the club as well.

However, they weren’t arresting girls for performing sexual acts or agreeing to. They were arresting the innocent girls that as their pick up line said “lets go have some fun” “or lets go play” and “it is fun in the VIP.” I don’t see how anywhere in those sentences is solicitation. With a good lawyer, I am sure that they will get off. But there are even funny rules, like that you have to keep one leg on the ground and not to sit on the crotch. You can sit to the side on one leg. Before they NEVER enforced these rules so now the hosts being super strict are throwing the girls off.

However, why haven’t they set up a reverse solicitation? They think that it is all dancer’s faults. What about the decent girls who get harassed by men soliciting them. I think men soliciting women is greater than the girl’s soliciting them. I can’t tell you how many time a guy wastes our time and asks for more than what is legal, or to come back to his hotel room. Do you think a decent girl working in a club wants to be subjected to this? I can honestly say that probably 75% of men that I talk to at the Spearmint Rhino solicit me. I think if the VICE started engaging in reverse solicitation that rumors would get out and men would be afraid to solicit us. Why do we need to be afraid of being arrested for asking someone if “they want to go have fun?” The cops should be soliciting from both ends. That could be a solution to get tourists and customers afraid to be entrapped and arrested. I had to tell a guy last week 5 times in one minute to quit touching me. He simply wouldn’t listen, I had to get a host. What about them? I think they are the worse offenders. I think most of these girl’s wouldn’t even do it if they didn’t feel so pressured. It’s expected and tolerated. They just can’t stick to their guns and give in to pressure. Who cares? They’re gonna shut that dirty place down some day.
